Seasons Greetings

I feel like me and my partner did a very good job on our backgrounds, they are very interesting and they catch the viewers eye. Also, I think that we did a good job on the ending of our video becuase after it was over the whole class started laughing and that seemed like a good idea. I think that our story line was also very well done, our research seemed accurate, and everything that we recorded seemed to fit into the final draft of our video. I believe that our creativity level was also extremely high and the video gave off good energy. From watching the other groups, I think that it would have been a good idea to have Michaela and I talking to each other over the phone. I think that that was a very creative and thoughtful idea and it turned out to be a very good idea. To make our video we had to first do research on the holidays we were going to talk about, then we had to make a script, after that we had to record on the camera, then we had to upload our footage onto the computer that we were using, then we had to pick backgrounds that we were going to use, then we had to edit our clips on adobe and edit out our greenscreen and put in the backgrounds that we picked. After that we had had to do the credits and find music. My partner helped me edit the clips and she showed me how to split the screen into two peices so we could both be on the screen talking with seperate backgrounds at the same time, I thought that was pretty cool. I helped my partner out by writing the script, finding the backgrounds, and finding and editting the music. If I had another chance to make this project all over again, i would probably pick different holidays to study, and had me and my partner talking over the phone throughout the video, not act like we were a news team.

Green screen Workshop

A green screen works by filming with a green screen in the background. Then when you edit it, green is a really easy color to get out. Then when the green is out you can put a background in it. An important consideration when filming with a green screen is to make sure there are no shadows because then the green is really hard to get out. A problem when tying to eliminate the green is that sometimes if there are shadows, the green is darker in the shadow and it is harder to get out. After affects was easier because you just click on the green and it came out.

5 important things found in other videos

From watching this video I learned that cutting out of a long interview and showing a different clip was a good idea because it kept the viewers attention and didnt bore them from listening to such a long interview. A good example of this is when Mr. Vela is being interviewed. Another idea i like was when Jacob was talking throughout the video but you didnt see him on screen the whole time, you just heard his voice. I also saw that making sure there isnt a glare is a good idea because it is hard to see what the camera is trying to capture while there is a big shining glare on the screen, a good example of this is when there are 4 kids sitting down texting, there is a girl sitting there and it is hard to see her because the angle of the camera and where the sun is hitting her.

What i thought was good thing to use in this video is at the beginning when the people are passing around pictures what seems to be a photo of a topless girl. i think that this method is good to use because it gets the audience's attention right off the bat. One other cool thing that was used in this video was the dramatic music throughout the video, i felt like it really helped hammer in the nail for this video. Picking the right music to use is very hard and if you dont pick the right songs, then the video doesnt flow, i think that their video flowed together and the music helped hold it together.

Group_10 Cyberbullying final

Cyber-bullying Video Reflection

After getting responses from my groups video I have found out that people don' t think that our video was as bad as we thought it was. However, there is a whole lot of room for improvement. To start things off, my group needs to put more titles in our video and fix the audio for some parts. Also, we need to put a transition in between Jose's two video clips because the is an obvious difference in the positions that he is standing in. We need to make credits and a proper bibliography. Also, we need to find a little bit more music so we could have music lowly playing in the background while people are talking or being interviewed about cyber-bullying. My favorite part of our video has to be all the interviews that he included throughout it. I felt like we had the most interviews and it showed a whole lot of people's similar views on cyber-bullying. My least favorite part of our video in the rough draft is that we didn't correctly fade the music in and out of the interviews and we need to fix that . If my group had the time to go back and do the whole video over again I think that after each day we taped, we would go back to class and upload the clips onto the computer so some people in our group could start editing early while the other people could go out and tape more footage. That was one of our problems in the first place, we ran out of time because we tried to edit all our footage after we had already got all of our clips and we couldn't finish it as fast as we liked. All in all, I had a lot of fun creating this video and i look forward to our next project.

This is an example of an template title, which is used to show the name of the person/title in the video without completely taking away from the video. You might use this kind of title when you want to name who is in the video. There is also a title with the option of subtitles to announce what else is coming up in the video.
